Submissao Grappling Challenge
Submissao Grappling Challange was launched in 2004 with about 50 athletes competing. Over the years the competition grew constantly and attracted more and more athletes from Germany and abroad. In the recent years the number of participants grew to 400 athletes, competing in the categories Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and Submission Wrestling (SW).
In the BJJ category athletes are competing in four different classes: White Belt, Blue Belt, Purple Belt and Elite Class (Brown and Black Belt). The SW category is divided into a Beginner, Advanced and Elite Class. In addition, an Open Class will be offered for athletes of the BJJ and SW category (only athletes from the middle weight division or heavier are allowed to compete; see rules for further information).
The date for the Grappling Challenge 2017 is confirmed. The event will take place at the Polizeisportverein Karlsruhe (Edgar-Heller-Str. 19, 76227 Karlsruhe, Germany) on the weekend

Registration for the event will be open soon. All athletes need to use the official online registration form to sign up for the competition. The registration will close one week prior the event. Please note: It will not be possible to register after the online form is closed (registration at the day of the competition is not possible). The registration will be open until Sunday, February 12.

Please note: Please no collective transfers! The transfer has to be completed until Sunday, February 12 (receipt of payment). Payment at the competition is not possible.
Entry fee:
EUR 35,- per division (weight class BJJ or SW)
EUR 70,- for both divisions (weight class BJJ and SW)
The Open Class BJJ and SW is free of charge and can be entered by anyone who has competed in his weight class (middle weight division or heavier).
Start of the competition:
9.00 o’clock
Weigh in:
The weigh in will take place at the first fight of the respective athlete. The weight of the competitor is determined with the athlete wearing its uniform (Gi in the BJJ category and board short/rashguard in the SW category).
Black Belt Challenge
On Saturday, February 18 a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt Challenge takes place. The Black Belt Challenge will be played in a simple KO-system. There will be no age or weight categories. Open to all Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belts.
